EDDM, 01. JAN., 2003, 3:00 AM - Project Launch
Right after the new year was born, a pretty good idea popped up in my mind. Why always
thinking hard about where to fly today, having tons of ideas but nothing concrete and
ending up with going somewhere I already know. That's sure not it.

There are so many interesting and exciting places in the (sim) world, but how can you find
them. The basic idea is to fly to every single country of the world. To get a better challenge
on this, every single capitol needs to be visited. There are 193 Capitols to visit, this will
keep me busy for a while (193 x 3 weeks / 52 = 11 years and 6 weeks) to complete this
project. In fact it will take some years since there is some complex stuff to deal with.

First priority is to keep everything as authentic as possible regarding the flight plans, the use of internationial airports to enter a country, the actual weather, etc.

For to figure out wich country to visit next, I programed a excel sheet that shows the
distance to every capitol from any other capitol. If the distance falls in a given range
between 500 - 1200 nm this capitol will be marked. The result is a small selection to
chose from. A good point is, that this way I don't know the route yet.

The capitols without airports needs to be visited with a helicopter or with anything else that flies (broom, the flying dutch, etc.) from a close airport. I'm not kidding, you will see ;-)

Original airline routes (company routes) needs to be flown as far as possible. An accurate
fuel calculation is a must. Since I will fly aircrafts like PMDG 737 or PIC A320 most of the
time, there shouldn't be any problem.

Every single flight will get it's own page here, with the flight plans for downloading, screen shots and real photos (if available somewhere) to compare, links to geographic and touristic informations and a description of the flight.
You will find the flights in alphabetical order to the ICAO code of the departure airport. If you are not familiar with the codes, there is a roll over function with every link showing the name of the departure and destination airport.

If there will still be enough time, I will program the complete SID and STAR procedures (like published with Jeppesen SimCharts) for the PMDG FMC. Of course you will find them in the download section as I finish the single flights.

Since my home airport is EDDM (Munich, Germany) I will start from here. Some screenshots
are still from FS2002, since FS2004 wasn't released the time I started the project.
Here are some screenies from FS2004.
